Master Tiler

Bathroom Remodel Simulator

You are the tile contractor. Tear this shower wall back to framing, hang cement board, roll membrane, comb thin-set, set porcelain, grout, and hand the job to the client — without cooking the change-of-plane.

  1. Pry the old tile — hold and sweep (1)
  2. Fasten two cement-board sheets (1)
  3. Roll membrane pink, wait until it cures red (6)
  4. Comb 1/4″ thin-set at ~45° to ≥95% (2)
  5. Set tile + spacers; wedge anything proud of 1/32″ (3, 4)
  6. Pack grout at ~45°, sponge the haze (5, 6)
  7. Silicone the wall-to-floor joint — never grout it (7)
